As primarily a collector I end up buying collections for a few select pieces then selling off the excess. Sometimes I Am Left With Groupings Of Items that just can't find the right person to buy. This last week I turned to Martinka but can not get a response from them ... This leaves me uncertain who else handles magic auctions covering all aspects of magic, from paper, small up to full stage items...

While I do enjoy their auctions, they are not the best communicators in the world. Keep at it and they'll eventually get back to you.
I did have some issues in the past with some broken items (in shipping), they took awhile to reply but did eventually get back to me and stood by their products. They run a good operation, just not the best in returning emails.

I can add to this that I have emailed them several emails, called during buisness hours to inquire about them buying or listing items I have in thier auction. I get the same answer, someone else has to call me back. I have called during off hours and always leave a message. As of now I have 7 emails and 12 phone calls to them in 30 days. They have yet to respond.
When I was a buyer I bought a very small item and it easily fit in a small flat rate mailer. They billed me what seemed like a high rate for shipping. When asked they were really quick to work with me and work out a better shipping charge. I have now seen both sides now. Communication seems to be significantly lacking. |

Thanks for your replies.
Despite lots of emails and various phone calls so far, will keep trying. regards Scott |

Heston, I'd be interested in any signed playing cards you might have if any.

Sell on EBay yourself. I have been selling magic on EBay for a little over 10 years now and have had no problems turning my used magic into cash.

Some of these auction houses' are showing some pretty sheer ignorance in not realizing how these amateur transactions are affecting their businesses. We are a micro-community. We talk to each other. They may think they are making a decent profit, but they have no idea how much money they are leaving on the table by pi**ing people off like this...and these people talk...and these people listen.

I have tried in two separate years to have them sell a "Gerlitz" piece for me and can only, after many emails, get the office person to confirm the RIGHT person would contact me. I don't understand their business model. but if people are having trouble getting their money from them then maybe its a blessing in disguise.
