The amazing thing here is there was no second safety. No back up. In every suspended stunt we have done the big concern was "What if the first point of suspension fails?" What will take over? Even Houdini always had a second line going to a different point.
How basic can you get? Ringling should know better!!! Dorothy Dietrich and Dick Brookz

Hi Michael Lee. You don’t have to keep pretending to be someone else. AKA M123. You have been back on the board for a long time now and I think you are safe.
When I found the rotor link for my post G Force there are heaps of youtube clips and news stories of deaths involving amusement parks rides, many I found were either at 6 flags(?) or disneyland, both USA owned and controlled. Just last night I saw this story on the news, $35M in fines because of recall response after deaths. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-05-17/gm-to-pay-record-fine-over-recall-scandal/5459432. I think your statement ‘AVOID it at all cost’ is very inflammatory at the least. I would question those who rigged it and authorised the set-up and what equipment was used and how it was used ‘Not’ where it came from and I wonder which country they are from? In the excellent post from Kevin in reply to Pakar’s question on rigging, Kevin talks about equipment rated for lifting humans. I know from my abseiling and caving days I could buy carabineers at very different prices. Tested for $30.00, untested for $10.00, knowing the business ethic over there, I am sure money was saved in all areas of the show but it rarely the products fault, it the people involved. With this devastating accident, there were no deaths although the injuries will take a long times to get over and have probably put some people out of their chosen career.
