Wait--you haven't even looked at the Jeopardy thread that you're accusing of fakiness? LOL!
Man, this is fast becoming my favorite NVMS thread of all time.

I just don't like Jeopardy and it just strikes me as something of a thread just to keep things light and ungenuine. I am not trying to be rude, but I do like to be real. Now you can laugh at my opinions all you want and that's fine, I could care less.

I agree landmark- it gets more inane by the moment. But I can understand why people who aren't interested in learning interesting things wouldn't be interested in the Jeopardy thread. It seems to me, thought, that if one is going to criticize a thread for not promoting good conversation and friendship he should at least read it first.

People like to get to know the real you, not some sort of front you put on talking about a topic that you are not interested in or know very little about. I don't know anything about the topic aside from what I saw on TV because it's just not interesting to me. Now, my wife knows a ton about music and knows way more than I do. Me, I am just an 80s kinda guy. I don't know artists very well at all, but I enjoy music, especially 80s music.

As usual, you've missed the point completely.

Most people are just not ivory towered academics who just go out and read everything that their is possible to ever read seeking to gain encyclopedic knowledge on everything. Instead, most people, because it's just human nature, prefer to engage in things that interest them and generally do not participate in things that do not interest them. That's most people and their is nothing wrong with that. Given, that I prefer to be a genuine person, I will generally not engage people in topics that do not interest me or know very little about. It's like me moving down from New York after playing years of ice hockey and trying to talk football with some of the southerners down here. They are going to see through the fact that I know very little about the sport or that it just doesn't interest me and I am not going to make any real connection to anybody trying to talk to them about something that I know very little about and have no interest in (I enjoy a good game of John Madden's football and learned some of the plays about football playing the video game against my brother in law who was a football player, but I am not a big fan nor do I watch college or NFL football). See how that is? See how it just logically makes sense? It just requires some common sense to understand what I am talking about. You don't need to be a rocket scientist or an ivory towered academic to understand such things. Just common sense that your common ordinary person has.

Like I said, you've missed the point.
We already understand that you don't care for things that involve actual knowledge and research. |

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
