Anybody know of any good Books on Pyro Devices & things to do with them?

I have "Special Effects with FIRE AND SMOKE", which is a good book, but I am looking for stuff on,

"making your own pyro devices"

and

how to work them into your show.

I know everyone is safety conscious, and I am not asking about anything to do with making the pyro materials, just the delivery devices for those materials.

Being a "part-time pyro" and "amateur mad scientist/inventor" I feel this is a natural progression.

Smile Smile Smile (uhm that would be maniacal laughter in the background)

I lean towards making my own devices whenever possible.
(no really, it hasn't got that much to do with being real cheap) Smile

Thanks

Thanks, I just put "Abbott's magic" in the address bar, and got this:

http://www.abbottmagic.com/

is this the same Abbott's magic that you are talking about?

Since it' a little after 0500 I'll wait a while to call them, but I will call them.

Thanks again

Sdgiu,

There is only 1 Abbott's in the World. If you haven't heard it is the "Magic Capital of the World" contrary to the belief that Las Vegas is.

Greg is the owner and will be very helpful.

You can email them also. There are not many books on pyro, because they think they will be sued if something goes wrong.

In today's world that is a correct assumption. Why invite trouble.

Redwing,

Abbott's Magic Mfg. Co. is in the small "village" of Colon, MI on Joseph Street.

Every August they have a Get-Together, with shows and activities.

Thanks Bill,
My Dad used to buy magic supplies from Abbotts, but that was in the late 50's early 60's, just wanted to make sure it was the right place now.

I remember reading the catalog for hours(not much changes), it was about a 2" thick book. I think I still have that catalog.

Thanks again
