I'm starting to work on a new bit - incorporating balloon twisting with a funny/good story. Any great resource/performer suggestions for such a thing would be appreciated. Maybe there is something out there I have not looked into yet?

Buster Balloon has a lot of material like this.
Check out balloon-animals.com http://www.balloon-animals.com/catalog/p......37579180 Also balloonhq.com has a free pdf of his "Things that fell out of my head" book. These are bits of business type of things, which may not be what you're looking for but you might get a few ideas. One idea that came to my mind was to use balloons to make the characters of a classic childrens story; Three Pigs etc. and then tell the story in a funny way. For instance, using the 3 pigs you could have the wolf eat the first pig in an overly exaggerated way, only to have the children correct you. After acting surprised and correcting yourself, you DO IT AGAIN with the second pig, getting another reaction. Then you could switch up the ending and have, say, the 3 pigs storm out of the house holding little balloon pitchforks, and chase the wolf down the road while poking him in the butt, or some other ending. Just a thought that fell out of MY head. Good luck

There are a lot of performers who do balloon storytelling, but sadly very little has been published on the subject so far. I little digging on YouTube will turn up some good examples and maybe give you some inspiration.
To the best of my knowledge, Allynn Gooen was the first person to do balloon storytelling with audience volunteers in costumes. But the idea of simply telling stories illustrated by or about the balloon creation as it is being twisted appears to be as old as balloon twisting itself. Good luck!

If you can find it, the Journey to the Center of the Stage DVD with Jimmy Leo is probably the best (and only) DVD covering balloon show storytelling. There's really not much else out there.

I don't know does this help, but my performance of the balloon swallow begins with a bit of a story, and has lots of word-play. Here is the performance: http://youtu.be/V56TnmCaqpY

Tony that was great. You've got a great style.
Ten minutes with a 260? Awesome. I watched two other videos from that show. You taught me something. You did thirty minutes with a 260, a thumb tip and Leroy. Gives new meaning to "packs small, plays big" One question if you don't mind. Do you tell the kids not to try swallowing the balloon, or do you just rely on them being smart enough to not do it?

But there is no harm in a warning. And it lets the parents know you have thought this out. Thanks for the kind words, by the way.
