The guy who invented the cheesehead was from my side of Milwaukee when I lived there. Legend has it he and a bunch of buddies were watching a Packers game in their basement, sitting on an old couch that was falling apart. After a few beers the guy took part of the foam cushion that was falling apart and took it over to his workbench. Taking a soldering iron, he gouged out a space for his head, and some cheese holes. He spray painted it yellow and stuck it on his head. His friends thought it hysterical and told him he should sell them. He did and now he drives a Hummer with a bright yellow cheesehead paint job...and probably has more money than many professional football players.

I heard that rumor as well though never saw out substantiated.
Wasn't it Seattle who started the wave?

Here's what I found out- while the wave actually started in Mexico, it was first used in America at an Oakland A's game in Oakland, CA. It was picked up later that year and popularized at the University of Washington.

Well if you going to use facts and proof and research I am out of this conversation. I won't stand for it.
You have a lot of nerve not just letting me post baseless opinions unquestioned. Consider yourself on notice.

LOL! Actually I had no idea where the wave originated, but your post got me curious. So now we both know!
