Hello fellow coin fans,
I am working on my stage show, and I want to open with a miser's dream/coin manipulation routine. I found some sources in old Genii's and I want to include some spring bills, but as far as basic coin work goes, I need some references. I know the basic palms and etc., but I was wondering what else I might want to invest in, a coin dropper? etc. ... Share with me your wisdom my friends! Pete |

Hard to avoid a suggestion to start with Bobo's Modern Coin Magic, and follow up the the Buckley Routined Manipulation books.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

Been through bobo's awhile ago. I was hoping to do a miser's dream in a vegas hotel coin bucket, and steal out spring bills, and some prefolded bills. I'll check out the Buckley work

Hi there.
Some references for you: The ultimate routine/ book on coin manipulation is from Ron Mc Millan: Art of Coin Manipulation. It describes a lot of sleights and his complete stage routine. Things to keep you busy for years. I performed part of this act for years when I was doing stage manipulation. You even get to learn how to backpalm ten coins(!) and produce them one by one( sounds very difficult but really IS NOT) Also look for Richard Kaufman´s book on interlocked production of coins and cards. Rare, hard to find today but try "magic books by post" or so. Your routine: it is great that you try to come up with something on your own. But does it have to be spring bills? It is the natural ( NOT THE BEST)climax of a miser´s dream. Or you produce jumbo coins... horrible too. We have seen this numerous times. Try to come up with something more personal and with a meaning. Look at Mc Bride´s misers dream. Does he need spring bills? Go a different way than only going the most obvious way with spring bills or jumbo coins. About 15 years ago, I published a book in Germany called hardcore( kind of a all star special of german magicians) and it has some original coin manipulation and card manipulation sleights in it too. If you pm me , I can give you further details. hope that helps. Ravi
