Did anyone watch "Masters of Illusion" last night? Young Spenser did an upside down straight jacket escape that either made Norman Bigelow proud, or ****ed him off. Not sure which. Spenser's "jaws of death" is reminiscent of the "Doors of death" that Norman created. I have to admit that Spenser did a great job. He built suspense well, and got out at literally the last second.
The rest of the show was not as good. It suffered from two very serious problems. First it was hosted by Dean Caine. I can't stand the man... I think he is a terrible actor, he was a lousy Superman, and I have personal resoans for not liking him too. More importantly though, the show really looked like it was a one-hour show that at the last second someone cut the budget and edited it down to half an hour. Everything was rushed, clipped, and victem of sudden camera blackouts.

Both are fun if you do it right! |

Spenser did the same USD Act on "America's Got Talent" - one or two years ago.
The "Jaws of Death" are the creation of Mike Michaels (NOT Spenser), and are listed on his Product website: http://www.mikemichaels.net/catalog/#/page-40/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The show is for the CW Network-----their demographic audience will not stand to wait & sit through a magic routine & choreography..its a fast-paced MTV world now. I attended 6 of the tapings...many of the routines & patter will be cut from the Show. Theme: Come on stage...do the *** trick....and then move on to the next performer. |
