The party of the first part then went on to accuse the party of the second part of aggressiveness, of making unwarranted assumptions (and, apparently, of putting words in the party of the first part's mouth), and of attacking the party of the first part. What do y'all think? Is the comment by the party of the second part aggressive? Does it constitute an attack? Does anyone really care? |

Sounds like implicit agreement to me.

A bit of witty sarcasm. Not aggression, I'd say.

It is "out of context" so, who knows?

Not aggressive, not an attack, I don't really care, BUT, it was an unnecessary response that could be perceived by a person with heightened sensitivity (or short fuse) as antagonistic.

I think that by "out of context," Mary might have been referring to the fact that the conversation preceding that exchange would be relevant in evaluating it.
Could you provide a link to the thread containing the full conversation? |

That would be helpful; I was thinking the same as Mary.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Here you go.
By way of explanation: they're discussing what percentage of people who took the Level III CFA exam last June will pass the exam (as opposed to discussing the minimum score that a candidate would need to pass). The e-mails with the results will be sent next Tuesday. |

What do they mean by "nice"?
Nice comes from the Latin "not to know." Originally a "nice person" was someone who was ignorant or unaware. Nicety meant "stupidity." I think what he means by "If you were expecting exclusively very nice, you're definitely in the wrong forum." is that here we tend to speak rather bluntly old boy.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Not aggressive and not an attack. Just my two cents.

Yes. That was the highlight of the thread for me as well.
But compared to some of the threads we've had here in NVMS, that one was positively tame. |

And, for the record, I wasn't being the least bit sarcastic in my initial response. There are quite a few people there who are regularly anything but nice; I was just warning her.
