The meaning of magic advertisements and reviews
============================================ Here's what they really mean: "Very easy to do" -- will require tons of practice. Not self working. "Beautifully crafted leather wallet" -- might as well write magic prop on it. "5 bonus effects" -- more garbage that you will never use to justify buying an effect that isn't worth the asking price by itself. "Practical material for the stage, parlor even close up magician" -- designed exclusively for stage but can be converted to close up by changing the method, the presentation, and yes you guessed it the trick itself. "Almost impromptu" -- five hours of setup required. Fits into a U-Haul truck. "Routine with ordinary objects" - you'll spend 10 hours at the toy store trying to find these things plus you'd never be caught dead with the junk on you. "Instant download" -- blatant rip of someone else's work Book/dvd "Tons of practical material" - you'll be lucky to get one trick out of this. Did I miss anything? |

"As seen on TV." - the Masked Magician blew this one.
"Suitable for beginners." - no one with experience will touch it. "As performed by ...." - and after fifteen years practice and experience, you too can do this. David. |

Highly recommended: Our warehouse is overflowing with this junk, we can’t give it away.
Make anything disappear: Long sleeves required along with a blind audience and/or misdirection in the order of a firecracker. Foolproof tricks: (see above) Best close-up effect in years: As seen on T.V. a hundred times now, every kid is performing it and it has saturated the magic market. Classic Effect: Been around for a hundred years everyone’s seen it. One of the all time greatest: (see above) Self-working: Gimmicked up the wazzo. Uses borrowed objects: Knuckle buster. You’ll spend the next 6 months of you life trying to get this one down.
In loving memory of Hughie Thomasson 1952-2007.
You brought something beautiful to this world, you touched my heart, my soul and my life. You will be greatly missed. Until we meet again “my old friend”. |

No sleight of hand: No entertainment value, either.
Do it five minutes after you open the box: The terrifying thing is that this is correct -- and many purchasers WILL do it five minutes after opening the box! cheers, Peter Marucci showtimecol@aol.com |

"Instant download" - a 550MB file that will crash your browser at least six times, causing you to be charged at least six times for the product.
"Great utility device" - we can't figure what to do with it, either! "Hundreds of applications!" - see above. "Vanishes in a flash" - unfortunately, the emphasis is on the word FLASH as the whole audience will see where it went! "Medium skill level" - only if you studied with Slydini and Vernon for about twenty years. Otherwise, good luck! "Easily replaceable" you will NEVER find the replacement parts. :firedevil: Just a few more. Lee Darrow, C.Ht. http://www.leedarrow.com
