Really like Rick's handling of this Monte. One thing I'm not understanding though is Rick's extra phase of revealing the 3 aces. Specifically, the time between when he puts the 2 into his pocket and when the 3rd Ace is on the table in play. The instructional performance video cuts from putting the 2 in pocket as he says "let's just use 2 cards..." to the 3rd ace already out of pocket and in play on the table. I'm not clear on a good thing to say/do as I bring the pocketed Ace into play. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

But there are some great phases in the penguin monte routine that I've added into the standard presentation I had been doing. My favourite monte is Stand Up Monte... but I like Penguin Monte also. I think that Penguin Monte is better when you have a surface/table. Stand Up Monte is better for walk around. I've never learned how to do an ungimmicked 3 card monte... so I'd like to take the time to learn that someday. My plan would be to have a himber wallet with normal cards and skinner's monte cards. I could do an ungimmicked monte routine... then offer to show them the trick again but more slowly... and then bring out the skinner's monte cards. So instead of using an Ace, Two and Three... I would just use one Ace and two twos. |

Great idea about doing an ungimmicked monte first!

If you have a switch-a-roo it is very useful here. Or maybe pocket by sans minds...
