The idea I had was for a spectator or volunteer on stage would be holding a locked box for the length of the performance and at the end...having almost "forgotten" about the box we open it up and it turns out the inside is the watch of the spectator holding the box.
My issue is I am not sure what type of box I need to accomplish this feet. I can either take the watch before the show and load it in prior to the show, but I would prefer a box that would allow me to take the watch and load it into the box on stage whether that means while the subject is holding the box or in the process of getting it in their hands. If you have any suggestions as to what type of box would be best suited and the best place to acquire one I would be most appreciative. |

The "watch box" that I bought from Al Cohen's Washington-based magic shop has served me well for this specific effect for the last 25+ years. I perform this both on stage and during walk around situations.
I believe this specific prop is still sold by most dealers these days, under the same name --or perhaps a variation of this name. May even be the Lippencott Box that I own. I cannot recall. Small wooden box, about 5 inches by 3 inches by 3 inches deep, with a small (real) padlock and key. This item being sold on ebay, seems to be cheap (knock-off?) variation on the wooden box I own: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Inlaid-Wooden-Loc......47114671 Good luck!
