I am trully amazed about the size of this forum. I think it's great there is such a place where so many people have found each other.
However, there are certain categories I never read but do take up a good amount of space. Might there be a way to make a selection of the categories I'd like to see and hide the ones I never read? I know that by pressing a title of a categorie it closes the rest. But because I'm still discovering this forum, I don't know what all the titles mean. Just asking |

Wait Till you get 50 posts... even more sub categories are suddenly available. (like magic)
What I have found in the many years I have been on the Café is that there are many I have never opened (or care to for that matter) but every once in a while when I have spare time, I find one that peaks my interest for one reason or another.(There is much to discover here). Also, I often explore the new ones (to me) thru a link or a mention from another member. As far as customization, I am not sure you can like that but in time you should find it second nature to scroll straight to the forums you want skimming seamlessly by the others (that's how I do it anyway)

You can collapse the forum to show only category names by clicking one of the categories.

Chris: He already said he knew how to collapse the forums but his problem is he isn't familiar enough yet with the forums to know what they are about so collapsing isn't an option yet.
Phren: presently you cannot subscribe to entire forums. You can subscribe to individual topics within a forum.

I've found this Google chrome extension which helps me hide elements from websites (If people are interested) however, doesn't seem to work on this website (which at the moment is the only one it doesn't seem to work with)
I understand that it will sometimes inspire to check other categories. However, it also 'scares' me a bit and every time I visit I'm held back. Its Missing the forest because of the trees (hope that's a correct translation from dutch). But I was just looking for options. If not possible I wil have to deal with it |

You might want take some time and read the decription of each forum. Then you'll know what you are interested in and can better use the suggestions given above.

Since they do not have 'show new post' option I ened up picking a few of my favorite sub-forums and bookmarking them. So I go to my bookmarks and open "little darlings' (http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewforum.php?forum=17&168579). I made a Café folder in my Magic section and saved a few. I rarely read any other sections though... I am sure I miss out on a lot.
