And the book is "Magica Analytica" by Larry Barnowsky. Barnowsky is a magician who has published other books, one exclusively on coin magic, and who posts here on the Café. The book looks fascinating.

I have provided my thoughts on the press release for this book on this thread. Has jamie? If not, then who is the one trolling?

The general public doesn't know that magic books exist? There's an entire section in public libraries devoted to them. 793.8 Ever heard that number before?
Even Barnes and Noble carries them in case you haven't noticed. |

Quote: Nobody ever learns presentation form reading. We learn by doing and then refining and adding to our knowledge by reading. Performing is not a spectator sport, You can't learn the art of performing magic by reading alone.
Books require an effort to acquire, read, and digest. That's how most of us learned Secondly: The average person, at my shows does not tell me about a trick they learn on you tube. They tell about a performer or performance they have seen or heard about. Thirdly: just wait until someone steals your opening and closing act and then sells it to the magic community. A routine that has only been performed for "lay people" The only way it could have been exposed to a magician is by word of mouth, never been on yt, or performed at any magic convention. Someone has heard about it by word of mouth, decided it was a great routine and broken it down into some sort of saleable commodity and then gone and exposed it. Not to lay people but to magician's and for the sole purpose of making money. The single worst thing for exposure is poor performances, the second worst thing is great performances that get you talked about. Just look at how many other routines have been stolen/exposed to the magic community. Doesn't matter where they are exposed, it is still exposure. |
