I have seen Michael lecture before, I have seen the 'At the table lecture' and even had the pleasure of meeting Mr Ammar in the Ruskin a few years ago in Blackpool.
I was expecting his Penguin lecture to be polished, but in truth, perhaps not the most memorable or exciting. However, I found the lecture to be full of solid material and a wealth of bits of business and hints & tips (the real gold to most serious hobbyists or workers). Michael did a coin in bottle and something unpredictable happened - his recovery was seamless (and a lesson in itself). This really was a 5 star lecture - congratulations to Michael and Penguin (with a tip of the hat to Mr Harlan as usual). Thoroughly recommended, even to experienced Ammar students/fans. Charlie |

What did he happen to teach other than that?

Lots of interesting advice. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/4807 From Penguin (but condensed & tweaked!): •Work on the Topit 2.0, including a simple system for learning how to use it in a single session. Then, the World’s Best Bottle Production and a Stand-Up Coin in Bottle routine with a special surprise method. •Torn and Amazed is the most visual tear and restoration of a signed playing card you’ll ever see. The only thing better than the effect is the method, because you only use 1 card and it is immediately handed out for examination! • Albo Card variations with the new deck - a piece is torn from a signed card and the piece is then signed. Visibly turning the signed corner upside down, it is then magically reattached to the signed card! The signatures never leave your sight, and yet this impossible card is given to the spectator who signed it as a souvenir! •A small envelope which has been folded 4 times is examined. A spectator dials a phone number as the envelope is unfolded, when suddenly, something inside the envelope starts ringing! The performer produces his Cell Phone from inside the previously folded envelope! •The Lightning Round features at least 12 different ideas, concepts and visual zingers in a 15 minute flurry of magic using sponge, scarves, coins, cards and drinking glasses! •Feets of Magic is a Stand Up card routine that can play for several hundred people. •Then Ammar will teach his version of the Dingle Card to Balloon, which is one of the most commercial card effects you can do on stage. •Michael Ammar’s Stand Up Cups and Balls has been called the best since Dai Vernon’s, and he shows it to us, giving some tips and details on his routine. |

Got through about half the lecture so far. Very nice. Always great to watch a master tip his techniques.

I've only seen the first little bit...Charlie's right, there was something that happened and watching how Michael handled it was really interesting. Can't wait to see the rest.

I purchased the ALBO effect. The instructions show one configuration, but there are three types. Is there a key on how to tear the other types? I'm trying not to give away the effect, so if this seems vague, it is supposed to be.
