As someone who has been to that part of the world, Ive observed that the locals make no distinction between magic performed for entertainment and evil sorcery. The Koran advises them that "Suleiman (Solomon) did not disbelieve, but the devils disbelieved teaching men magic" (2:102)
Consequently, I too am skeptical that anyone would even try to scratch out a career in street magic given the current sociological climate.

thank you for explain. Anyway, the Mirror if famous to give "Woman give birth to an Alien!" like news. In the article there's no reference at no real names "The street magician" "A local who fled safely t Turkey" More, the story of the closed barber shop is an exaggeration too, just check on the web. Hyperskeptical here. |
