Here is a quick little puzzle that gets great reactions, and that can also bring something emotional or related to your act, an event, the actuality, etc.
Presentation: "Do you have internet at home?" The answer will probably be yes. Otherwise, most places like bars or restaurants now have wifi. "So, you have a Wifi box or router." "Do you know the security code by heart?" The answer will probably be NO. Take a business card with your Wifi code on it, and show it to the participant. "Here is mine: opq3 - 4317 - 2ey2 - 23qw - 3w32." (for instance. It can be changed if you want) "I learned it in a fraction of a second. I am not kidding. Can you do the same? I'll show it to you, let say, two seconds, and then try to repeat it, or write it down if you prefer." They won't be able to do it. For those interested, I'll send you the pdf for free (Just pm me). |

I cannot understand the effect of the puzzle.
You show the code and the spectator cannot repeat it. What has the internet story to do with it? Any sequence might work. Did I miss something ? Hmm, was the effect intended to puzzle the readers of your post?
So much to do, so little time . . .

Well, I didn't mention to hide the code after the two seconds. I thought it was obvious.
- You show the code written on a beer mat or business card, for 2 sec. They have to remember it. - Then you hide it. - Ask them to repeat it. (Unless they are a memory genius, they won't be able to do it.) - Then, you swear that you could learn it in half a second, and you teach them how to do it. NOTE: - Why WIFI? Just because the security code usually is a mix of letters and numbers. You can use another justification if you want. - Of course, it is more fun if the readers try first to solve it themselves. |

So what you are offering is teaching the spectator the ability commit 5 sets of 4 random arrangements of numbers and letters that the spectator has viewed for only two seconds, right? I think that would be a useful thing to know and use. How can I get your .pdf?
