Hello, this is the first time I have posted in over a year. You probably won't even remember me. I have recently invented a prototype for a tenyo like effect that goes like so;
A card is examined before being dropped into a small clear envelope. The card is seen and heard to be rattling inside, proving that the envelope is solid. The magician then take the envelop and puts it on its side before the card visibly drops out of the envelope as if it melted through it, even though the edges were shown to be solid. The trick doesn't require any slight of hand, and is practically self working. I want to know if you guys think the effect is original enough, or if something like this already exists. If you guys want, I can take a video of the effect, and show you what it looks like. I'm also currently developing a way that the card can be inserted into the envelope by the spectator, and how to have the card penetrate into the envelope. As a small plus, you can also make the card inside seem to float around. Tell me what you guys think! Thanks! |

I don't mean to be pedantic, but it's "sleight" of hand. "Slight of hand" would mean that you have small hands.

I'd also like to see a video the magic guy I assume the spectator can not examine the envelope, or perhaps it is possible for a brief moment?

No, they can't. I did make a video, but the quality really sucks and it's so blurry yo don't really understand what the heck is happening. I'm just going to say how it works, just because. The envelope I use was an ultra pro top loader with a section of the case colored on top, and cut out on the back. Therefore, you could drop in the card, and it would appear to stay in because a little of the back was left in. However, with a circular motion, the card would be forced free of its constraints and fall from the case, creating the illusion that it dropped through a solid piece of plastic.
