Harry, did you ever have jam sessions with these 2 mircale workers? I bet the three of you would have had some brainstroming, if so!

MagicChris: Yes; I've written about that in another post. Used to spend time with Dai just about every Saturday. I made several trips to Chicago to spend time with Marlo. So sure - Vernon and I would go at it pretty hard. Also spent time with him after he left New York and became a fixture at the Magic Castle in Los Angeles.
He and I used to do a code thing. He would code a selected card to me with words. He was awfully good at it. He'd quite naturally say, "Getoutahere! There's no way you'll know that card" and, of course, code it to me. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world. We hadn't done it for a long time. He was in his 90's already, I guess, I was at the castle, and he said, "Do tht trick, Harry, you know, the impossibility." I knew what he meant, of course. I found it difficult to believe that he could still do it. He did it perfectly. HARRY.

Hey Pete: I don't know if you're kidding or not. You mean "mnemonics." And the only suggestion I'd make is that you go into my website harrylorayne.com
That will tell you all about the MEMORY POWER course. HARRY.

Pete: I hate to even mantion it, and I'm so sorry I did it, but I taught my method in REPUTATION-MAKERS and in THE MAGIC BOOK, and I think, in APOCALYPSE. however, it's my method. Don't know if that's good for everyone. HARRY.

Mr. Lorayne,
We all hear about how Vernon held court at the Magic castle with other magicians. We hear how Marlo became the center of the circle in Chicago. My question is: Do you hang out with other top magicians currently? If so, how often? what do top guys talk about? I have always asked myself that question. Vernest |

VerbestL I used to be at "The Caféteria" every Saturday afternoon - years ago. That started decades ago, when the "meetings" were at the old Dixie Hotel in New York. Gosh, the hours I spent with Vernon, Frances Carlyle, Balducci, Herb Zarrow, John Scarne (who was in the throes of putting together Scarne on Card Tricks there, at one time, managed to get a few from me - then ended up having one or two of them credited to other people. One of them being Milton Berle). And more.
Venue changed over the years. Many different places, different, younger people. But, I now spend most weekends at my country home, so I'm not in New York on Saturdays. So the answer to your question is - no, I don't really "hang out" with other top magicians currently. I miss it. HARRY.
