Hello everyone,
I just signed up and thought I’d jump right in! Little about myself: I'm the son of a magician (Chip Boyce, AKA: Winston) and as such have been exposed to the world of magic since I was born. My parents run a children’s entertainment company in Fresno called Fun Time Entertainment, which gave me an interesting childhood to say the least. I learned most of what I know from my father, but I'm now taking steps to become my own Magician. I've just started to get into performing in the last couple of years, mainly performing through my church and Toastmasters club. I had my first official stage gig at a church carnival last year, which could have gone better, but provided a great learning experience. This year I've decided to step up my game and make magic a priority. I've been pursuing children's stage magic, mainly because it's what I know, but I'm still looking for my true magic voice. I don't know if children's magic is where I'll stay, but I look forward to the journey of discovering where I belong. In the meantime, my wife and I are starting up a chapter of Fun Time in Orange County. I'm very glad to be here and I look forward to being a part of this community, -Lance Boyce |

Welcome Lance,
Like you I had a single main influence and Mentor in Magic (my partner Tom). That is a big advantage but it can make it hard to find your own voice. Don't worry, there is hope LOL. I also turned to Children's Magic (although I also love Close-Up for Adults). I'll see you in "The Little Darlings". Best luck in your journey. Performing for Kids is a blast. -Mary Mowder |

Welcome! I'm a newcomer here, too, but your mention of Fresno caught my eye. It was there that I visited my first magic store and got hooked!!! I was in grad school in Monterey (in the late 70s) and heard a Fresno store had juggling equipment, so I made the trek. I did indeed buy some props for juggling, but a demonstration of Cups and Balls and the Hot Rod led to those purchases, too....and many more trips there in subsequent years!
