A gentle reminder that your torso is your proscenium arch and your mat / table is the stage. Notice how not paying attention to this can render the balls you are using mostly (unintentionally!) invisible.

It makes me think about our body language behind the mat and the possible subconscious "tells" we might be giving to our audience as we perform. We lie to our audience, but we have to be sure our body language doesn't betray us. Unless we want it to.

Most magicians, especially close-up magicians, do not pay attention to the important details.
Make a video of yourself performing. Then look at it with the most critical eye possible. Here are some things to look for 1) lack of contrast between the props and the table. 2) cluttered table 3) twitches and tics when doing a move. 4) inane patter. Pay attention to your body movement. If you think something is wrong, but you can't put your finger on the problem, get someone with theatrical experience to look at your video. They may be able to point out what needs to be changed. They may also tell you how to change it.
