Hello all,
I used to perform magic from '94 until about '05, but eventually realized I didn't have the time to continue, since it has always been a side thing for me (I only ever did 5 or 6 shows a year). I decided to drop it, since I couldn't give it the attention it deserved. When I stopped doing magic, I got rid of all my equipment(which was fairly significant at that point). Recently, my 10 year old son has shown a large interest in performing magic. I've been helping him here and there, but decided to join the forum so I could brush up on my skills, as well as find out great places to acquire new magic supplies, to help tutor my son. I look forward to meeting and discussing with the community here! |

Welcome kenjo,
I'm sure helping your Son will totally re-kindle your interest in Magic. You have to have been fairly far along to have done any Shows at all. Do your Magical interests coincide with your Son's interests? -Mary Mowder |

Yes, I believe his interests are similar to mine.
He seems to be more interested in close-up magic, which I always enjoyed more than stage, although working with a crowd is also fun. Since I've done plenty of both, I'm sure I can help him out with whichever way he decides he wants to go. I've just started browsing the Café today, and I'm impressed with the amount of great information and help that is available here! I'm already getting excited again about the magic myself. Maybe my son and I can get a show put together and start performing... that would be such a blast! |
