I don't do a lot lf mentalism but I am always on the look out for a real worker, on penguin atm they have "no hasslehoff" in the coolbox http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/5672#
The description is "A mentally thought of card, and a dramatic finish!" that's up near the title, no actual discription of the effect, it looks pretty good good ending but give no indication as to gimmicks or skill level required. Ryan gets the spectator to pick around 5 cards pick the highest valued one of the bunch put the 5 back into the deck shuffle then hand them back, and finally he uses the aces to find the chosen card. I can only surmise that by the looks it's not a hole deck and could possibley be loaded. But I really hate long drawn out effect description but no description is worse in my book. |

No Gimmicks... Skill level? Meh.. not really any skill involved per se. There is a set up but not hard at all to get into. (No duplicate cards) IMO Ryan fails to explain a critical part in the beginning of the effect. There is a f@#$e involved but he does not explain this aspect completely . I can figure it out and devise my own method but he should have went over it which he didn't. It's a decent effect and worth the $4.95. It would have been better if he would have improved the explanation I mentioned.
Guilt will betray you before technique betrays you!
