Hello,
A person I respect advised me to start selling products on my website and after magic shows. That sounds great, but I have no idea what I would sell. Does anyone have any recommended vendors who are easy to work with? Thanks Elias www.eliascaress.com https://www.facebook.com/eliasleftycaress |

Depends on your show. You can buy unbranded magic DVD with just someones hands and sell it as your own. If you have a nice camera avalible you can make your own DVD and get a ****TON made so you can sell them and make a good amount. One thing I am learning to do is sell Rubik's Cubes after public shows.
Also, Make sure to have fliers, business cards, and promotion material to sign and give away to people. You can also have trick decks to sell. Offer the people a package.. SO indivudually lets say trick deck is 10 dolalrs, book is 8 dollars, Rubik's cube is 12 dollars, and Dvd is 10 dollars bringing everything $40. Say if they get everything they can get it for ONLY $35. It sounds like a better deal and you will make pretty good sales. Depending how much you buy in bulk you can get these items extremly cheap. For example.. Rubik's Cubes 2.50, DVD's .71, Books 2.75, Trick Deck - 1.00. BTW I looked up all these prices online on reputable websites. So your total cost of the products would be about 7-8 dollars and you would make nearly $28 on everysale that you sold everything. That adds up over time. But start with just one of these items and keep on getting more and more inventory. One key thing.. Is make sure you do enough of these types of show that you can actually sell thing. EX. I do a LOT of high end and mid range corporate events... No time to ever sell anything.. but they are paying me enough where backroom sales really don't effect me that much. If I was doing a touring shows or more public shows I would absoutely have more thing to sell. Etc. Best of luck. Best of Luck |

What type of shows do you do, kids or adults? What type of venues do you perform at the most, houses, cruise ships, trade shows, corporates, school assemblies?

I suggest not selling something for just the purpose of selling something, but rather sell something with a puprose, significance or directly related to your performance or something within. It does depend on your market and intent.
