Yup, PM's are automatically deleted after 60 days unless you have saved the message in that folder.

If they didn't delete themselves the inbox's would be overflowing with BM's (Broadcast Messages). That is why there is a save option. Once you consider that some users only log in once a month or so, it makes sense.

They could delete just the broadcast message they spam, rather than the legit ones, don't you agree?

Minsting, this has nothing to do with broadcast messages. People are always quick to talk about those. Broadcast messages automatically delete after 30 days. We have thousands of members pm'ing each other everyday and and if we allowed all of them to remain forever, we would soon be overwhelmed in bandwidth alone. We give each member the ability to save those that are important to them.

I save mine as a web page file. Unlimited storage!

The only downside to saving the PM's on the Café is that you can only have a total of 60 pm's in combination of all boxes so if you have 60 saved pm's, you can receive any more.
And if members were as quick to read the rules as the are to criticize how we run the Café, there would be a lot fewer surprises. The process for PM's is explained in detail in those rules.

I think it's pretty rude and disrespectful for newcomers here to come on and refer to broadcast messages as "spam." Most of these same people wouldn't even be here if they had to pay even a modest membership fee, yet they criticize the Café for advertising.
As Dave, said, it's all spelled out in the rules that everyone agreed to when they applied for membership. |

What ya do is (Windows) right-click and "save as...". It'll save as an IE file with two icons. An "E" and a folder. They have to stay together. I have a file folder of more than two hundred PMs. As mine approach 50 or more, I save them and clear them out.
