Hi,
As I live in Spain, I have to order coin envelopes online. I've been testing ones I bought on Amazon just to find out that if I would tell the participant to put the envelope with his card inside against the light, he would see through. So I have been searching for sources, I found actionenvelopes.com for example. But do you know a combination of blank index card and coin envelope that would pass the 'against the light' check? It's very frustrating to order index cards and envelopes and finding out that they are useless. Thanks for your help!

I once took an envelope apart and used it for a pattern to make my own out of black paper. That should do it if you don't need a bunch of envelopes or if you can make what you need in one setting. Black paper (construction type will work), glue stick, and scissors.
PS: Do not run with scissors, you can put your eye out.

If you need them to be white, buy the long type security envelopes that have a non-see through pattern on the inside and make your own from that paper. I like the black paper best as it adds mystery in my opinion.

Thanks B.W. McCarron, that is a great resource. Reminds me of my Do-It-Yourself Coffin Templates.
