I've just got a couple questions and I figured I'd put them in one post instead of making more than one.
Here's the first one... Has anyone devised a system or a utility gimmick to be able to holdout gaffed cards, keeping them in great condition so that any time you want you can secretly retrieve them in palm and add them to the deck in use? I know you could always use card manipulator's butterfly clips, but I'm kinda looking for something a that will prevent the cards from bending or being damaged. I already keep cards in the deck itself for the chicago opener, so I'm not looking for a suggestion on just keeping them separate inside of the box or in the plastic.. Tell me what you do for this sort of thing? Any ideas you've heard of or come up with? I don't want to have to set up the trick before approaching a table or group, I'd like to be able to decide that I'm going to do Angle Z for example and just palm the card in to the pack and do it. Omni Deck Switches. I recently purchased Shawn Farquhar's Penguin live lecture where I learned his Omni Deck presentation and deck switch. I then purchased his Omni deck which is still on the way. I've tried using his deck switch for other things which I'm not totally satisfied with yet. I'll keep working on it and maybe at some point get to where I'm more comfortable with it. However, do you have any other suggestions for a standing deck switch? Perhaps something with better angles, or something that doesn't involve the whole fumbling jacket thing? Maybe I'm just being lazy for not putting enough effort in to his. Let me know what switch you use and how it goes, please. I know there's a couple books on nothing but deck switches... Do they have any/a lot of standing deck switches? I'm also interested in a switch that doesn't necessarily involve a jacket. I often perform in only a vest and leave my jacket on a hanger due to it being hot here in Florida in the summer time. |

Here is the Florentine Holdout you are referring to, that is a fantastic price as Owen Magic makes one for over a thousand dollars.
http://www.martinbreese.com/trickpages/holdout.htm If you like to make things yourself, as this item is no longer available, this device will work as well. It was used on an old television show here in the U.S. called the Magician. The picture show the device. http://www.martinbreese.com/trickpages/fingertips.htm No jacket, then I do not recommend a deck switch. It makes the journey of the hands and arms to long. |

A banker's clip will do the same thing as the butterfly clips without crimping the cards.
Magic Ian used to produce a cool clip that operated like one of those coin purses that have the spring metal opening. Since he is gone, I'm not sure where you could find one of his, but if you can locate one of the purses, you can cut the bag part off and it should work fine. https://www.google.com/search?q=coin+pur......Ch2h1wD_ Regarding pockets, check out Jarle Lierpoll's "Pocket Power", either the book or video.

I have been using Tommy Wonders deck switch for years. It is so simple you almost think it wont work but it always does. It is really a great idea and best of all it is self working more or less. It does require a jacket but maybe with a bit of thought it could be adapted to other types of apparel.

Steve Reynold's In-vestment looks interesting. Anyone else here speak out for it? Don't want to pay for something unless I hear a couple of recommendations first.
I'll look in to pocket power and Tommy Wonder's switch as well. Thanks for the replies so far! |

A TKO is an easy way to add or take away a card or two.
