I'd like to offer my sincere appreciation to the members of this bizarre forum for their feedback and their participation in the Top Hat project. Our Top Hat Bizarre Issue was a success due to you folks and the decision to continue carrying a bizarre section in our publications was directly the result of your feedback. So, thank you all!
Also, based on the opinions and ideas from our readers, we have started a FaceBook page for Top Hat which will allow for ease of finding and downloading contemporary (as well as older) editions. As these publications become available for download, they will be found on our FaceBook page which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1670559619838521/ I'd further like to thank Weepin' Willie who has accepted the mantle of being a regular contributor to our bizarre section. You'll know him from these pages here at the Magic Café and you can now read his articles on our pages of Top Hat. His contributions to our magazine are superlative. If you haven't read anything from this exceptional bizarrist and all around good writer, then hit that FaceBook page and take a look at issues #8 and #9. I promise that you won't be disappointed (and I offer a money back guarantee!). Our newest contributor to the bizarre section is the Nyama Possessor. I'd like to give a hearty welcome to this gentleman and thank him for picking up the mantle of being a regular contributor. I look forward to his contribution in our upcoming issue (#10, due out the middle of July). Again, you can keep up with our publications by joining the FaceBook page given above and you won't miss a single edition of this excellent publication. Lastly, I'd like to request articles from you good folks. Take a look at our publication and if you feel that it's something you'd like your name associated with, then maybe you should give due consideration to being a contributing writer. Our deadline is approaching soon for the #10 edition, but that's just the next one up - there's room for you in our publications beyond that if you've got the guts for it! Do you want your opinion heard? Do you have something to say? Let me know at this e-mail address: tophatv2@gmail.com This is a free publication available to all magicians from all walks of life. You can be a part of it if only you want. Mike. |

Michael,
Thank you for the public shout out and kind welcome, and thank YOU...for having the strength, fortitude, vision, gumption and courage to undertake such a project, in producing and editing and further expanding Top Hat to include Bizarre Magik as a permanent feature of the publication!!! I appreciate you, and am both thankful and grateful to you for your conviction in seriously wanting to include Bizarre Magik in Top Hat, while other editors of "standard magic" are often still weary and fearful of Bizarre as a magic genre. Verily, I am looking forward to taking part in the publication and doing whatever I can to assure its success, longevity and place in the historical timeline of magik. The Trumpet has sounded... Let's Rise!

All those who take the time to investigate Top Hat, will witness its truly unique beauty and strength. Those that willingly ignore Top Hat are fast asleep... (This is a FREE publication!!!) The Wise know even small things contain applicable Knowledge and Wisdom, and that fools are thirsty even in the presence of water...
As a Bizarre Top Hat columnist my personal aim and duty is to show, prove and add to the weight of this publication, in part by providing unique and quality ideas and information towards the evolution, upliftment and advancement of Bizarre Magik, that Elders AND Newcomers alike, may reap the benefits of such contributions. Exclusive Bizarre interviews, idea "vomit" sessions, prop-making and distressing techniques, as well a digital sarcophagus filled with tips, tricks, hints, advice, suggestions and resources for regular Mystery Artists and Bizarre and Storytelling Magik performers can all be expected from my personal Top Hat column, "Visionary Reflections from the Secret Lair of the Nyama Possessor". There is something for everyone in Top Hat and with the advent of a more permanent Bizarre fixture within its digital pages (including feature contributions, effects, ideas and articles), it is quickly setting itself up to be a great success. I too, urge all competent and brave Bizarrists and Mystery Artists who espouse loyalty to this art, to contribute to this ongoing project and timely publication. At the very least, there is no reason why people can't provide feedback, comments, thoughts, opinions and/or suggestions... Furthermore, I too am urging people to "like" the Top Hat facebook page, and challenge you to interact with it. Now's your time to step up to the gates of the underworld, pass through the halls of judgement and contribute something to the bizarre community that YOU and only YOU have to offer via Top Hat. Don't miss out on the opportunity to become a part of the Top Hat vanguard! The chosen few are the few who chose. It is a choice to be chosen, or remain frozen at 32 degrees as just-ice, which is justice! The penalty or rewards based on ones deeds and actions. Come join us, and reap the reward by submitting your effects, thoughts, ideas and/or writings!! Very special shout out to my favorite Funeral Director... "Weepin' Willie", thank you for standing among the few who are offering their spare time and energy to contribute Bizarre Offerings to this publication. Your words and thoughts are always entertaining, engaging, informative and "morbidly hilarious"! As I have told you before, I'm am both honored and privileged to be writing alongside you as a featured co-Bizarre Top Hat columnist. May I remind you again though, I am not yet ready to purchase one of your caskets for myself, please stop pressuring me!!!

A review of the magazine has come in. On the downside, it's from one of the writers of Top Hat itself. On the upside, he's one of my main critics (which you'll see in the review excerpt I'm about to share). I think it's a fair assessment of the Top Hat magazine (but, then again, I'm a bit partial):
Quote:
So, although I haven't done a review of the Bizarre issue, which is stonkingly good, I've decided to review the latest, regular version of Top Hat with the brand new formatting. Of course, you don't have to take his, or anyone else's, word for it. You can download the #9 issue, free of charge, at the FaceBook link given in the original post. Or, if you don't have an account, just drop me a line at the e-mail address (also given in the original post). I've been considering adding a "Letters to the Editor" page in Top Hat, so if you'd like to send me any comments you'd like included in the upcoming issues (good and bad - I'll publish your opinion because I'm a firm believer in freedom of speech), please send them to the e-mail above (original post) under the subject heading 'To the editor of Top Hat' and I'll read them. If you've got something to say, I'll publish it (and, again, good or bad, even controversial, I'm a big proponent of freedom of speech). And thank you all, again! Mike. |
