Hello all. I am one of Santa's helpers during the holiday season and I'm hoping to learn a few easy magic tricks to astound children at close range. Suggestions welcome. The fewer/smaller props, the better. Thanks in advance.

Welcome Madd.dogg,
Even easy tricks deserve respect and practice, otherwise you will join the ranks of Un-magical hacks and they are legion. If you are up for some fun, Ring and Rope (best of these choices). Use a 3" or smaller brass ring (reef Scuba gear) and a pretty cord and you can wear it as a necklace. It will look quite festive. Double Color Changing Silks if you have a pouch to put it away. You can get a big response if you spend time learning to handle it well and don't over do it. Do it from a little distance. I'd suggest you go to a real "Brick and Mortar" Magic shop if you are lucky enough to have one in your area. A change bag "blendo" of several small colored silks (call them handkerchiefs) into a Christmas Silk. Peppermint from their ear (but only do it when there is just one Kid in line LOL). You might check out D'lite instead. Be careful not to upstage Santa. LOL A couple of Christmas riddles can add a lot of silly fun. -Mary Mowder |

Hey, welcome!
Kids love simple sponge ball tricks, especially if you do color changes in their hands.
Didn't your mother ever tell you not to believe anything you hear and only half of what you see?
