Hello
I'm planning one trying out busking soon. I had one question. Where do you keep the money once you have collected a hat. Assuming that you are doing more than a single show in a day, I would assume you would need a safe place to keep all of the bills. Thanks

I have a zippered bag sewn into my servante.

Thanks for the reply. I won't be using a table or a servante, so if any one else has any other solutions, I would love to hear them.

Our buskers pouch has a zippered pocket right against the body to keep money safe.
From the front or the sides, you see nothing.

I use an old US Federal Reserve money bag I bought on Ebay which then goes in my busking pouch or it's tied to my belt hidden under my jacket. Either, or, it never leaves my side.

One of my busking bags is a women's shoulder bag [the shoulder strap gets put around my waist and then tightened] with a zipped pocket on the side facing my belly. The money goes into that during my work on the street. At the end of my working time my bag is taken off and put away in my suitcase.
Of course, don't go counting your money on the pitch. And lock your vehicle once you're in it if that's where you count your money [best not to count it until somewhere even safer].
The presentation makes the magic.

Thanks for all of the replies. I don't have a pouch or anything like that that I wear on my person. I'm just wearing a jacket, then a have bag on the ground that has my stuff in it. I wanted to keep the show minimal. Maybe I'll just leave the inside pockets of my jacket empty and keep the cash in there...but then there is no place to put my phone and wallet...maybe this "minimal show" idea is a little flawed.

I put some under a hank in my case and fhe rest in my socks.
That way someone can grab my case and think they got the loot, but only got a few. I've want to do two bags that look the same and switch the one with bills out for one full of newspaper so any goons who would grab the loot end up with shredded massage parlor ads instead. |

I put mine in a bag that I then put into my performing bag and I then don't worry about it.
Other than to say I never take my eye of my bag, it is what it is. don't bring so much atttention to it bag it, dump it! Now if your talking about my main cash, savings passport and stuff - money belt All if I can I always put it in a safe. |

I had the same approach as Mario when solo. Nobody ever attempted to take it.
Perhaps the assorted fire juggling gear, knives, and straightjacket unnerved them. When I was out with any of my [now ex] wives, it was simple. Soon as they got near the "hat" all cash vanished. If I couldn't get it then a mugger stood no chance. Nowadays with my solo "sidewalk" show notes/bills go into a money belt. Coins go into a bag inside my small case. |

I once saw a marionette manipulator who kept his "hat"....in his hat.
He was doing a short, maybe five minute, show for outdoor Café crowds. When he finished at each Café he simply took off his baseball cap, collected, replaced "cap of many bills" on his head and moved on. He could carry cash in the cap with marionette and boombox in each hand. Obviously at some point, away from an audience, he probably stuffed the proceeds into the small shoulder bag he wore. |

I knew a guitar player that had two money bags that he placed in his guitar amp. The bags had the word "cash" spray painted on them. One was empty waiting for cash to be inserted. The other had a 357 in it, you know, just in case of robbery. He reasoned that if anyone saw him putting money in a bag and planned to rob him would assume the bag with the pistol in it were one in the same "cash" bag.

I have seen shoulder bags (small) that can hold your personal items and worn under your jacket. Think I saw this in a travel magazine.
