Hello,
Can anybody help me with this query...? I've recently bought a second hand Bob Swaddling original double deception and commercial matrix... They are visually in great condition and look unused. The !@#$**r elastic had perished but no problem there after an overnight dip in solvent everything is sparkling. I've cleaned the grooves with a pin and had spare elastic from my g*****y !@#$**r but there seems to be no m****t on the inside of the Swaddling !@#$**r... should I expect one (I was) should I just get a small rare earth and stick it to the moving part? Would that be the correct place for it? Everything else is complete but without the adjustment I have mentioned I can see how the other m******c coin would interact with the !@#$**r. Just checking I'm on the right lines. Thanks for any help. Tam |

I've got the original DD in Walking Liberty, but I would think the construction would be the same. If yours fell out, the place to put it should be obvious as mine sits in a recessed spot in the middle. If there's no "room" for the neodymium piece- remember it needs to be able to close flat/flush - then I'd say you got the wrong flipper in your set.

Many thanks for the reply, yes there is a recess in the centre of the door and that was where I thought it ought to go... mine's a Kennedy half set but it did look like it had been in a drawer for some time... I have some thin neodymium so will effect the repair. Can you suggest the best glue to use, a two part epoxy or is super-glue more suited? The instructions recommended a solvent to get it asunder but not the glue to repair.

If the solvent recommended was acetone (nail polish remover) then it is more than likely a type of "super" glue, not epoxy.

Thanks for the reply.
They recommended EvoStik adhesive cleaner...see link below. I mean I could just run tests but I imagine people here change rubber bands on a regular basis. Not very chemically minded so don't know what this solvent will dissolve. Tam http://www.toolandfix.com/evo-stik-19125......odyHQCog |

Evo-Stik looks to be a brand name and if they are suggesting Evo-Stik Adhesive Cleaner then perhaps they have used Evo-Stik Adhesive. I'm not sure that helps very much as there appears to be quite a variety of Evo-Stik glues. For your needs, any super glue that is designed for non-porous material should work but the Evo-Stik Serious Glue sounds safer to work with since it doesn't bond instantly.

Great, I'll get sticking!
Thanks again, Tam |
