In respect to the growing interest in an easy to memorize stack - see the thread “The Solution by Atlas Brookings” that I of course ordered - I decided to republish my own memdeck "m3d". More then ten years ago card aficionados could it download for free.
In the years from 1994 to 1996 I developed this memorized deck - the "m3d - mind map mem deck". Since that time the stack was only slightly modified. A goal was to create a stack for a memorized deck which is easy to learn despite long demonstration breaks and small exercise frequency. Another goal was to create an unforgettable stack! I developed a completely new memorizing approach. No need to learn by heart any card to position or position to card relationships. You just know this. One is able to predict the card at position xyz cards apart without calculations. The m3d-stack is a real memorized deck. The m3d is displayable, cutable and EASY to learn. Once you've read the description you know the deck and you are able to handle the deck. Even after a long time break. (No kidding!) Principal purposes of the development of the m3d were LOW effort to learn and LOW demonstrating and calculating stress as well as the ability of mind mapping. Stack and card sequences shouldn’t be learned by heart. Learning the stack should be possible WITHOUT any keywords, pegs and arithmetic. Click here to view attached image. |

In the m3d is indeed a built-in effect named "Digital Deck".
The deck gets a cut. No marked cards. A spectator takes a closed block (ca. 20-30 cards) from the middle of the deck. He presses the packet against his chest and remembers the bottom card. Only the spectator can see the bottom card. The remainder is put away. The spectator now shuffles his cards. The spectator calls to the mentalist in rapid speed all of his cards one by one. The mentalist is able to find spectator’s card – may be by a voice analysis :=). According to mentalist’s instructions spectator removes cards until few cards remain in spectator's hand. Now the mentalist calls out each of the remaining cards to remove the cards in spectator's hand. The last card will be named by the mentalist - it is the chosen card. (Mentalist didn't know how many cards the spectator took. The deck is cutted and so stack numbers are not in play.) |

Did you change something since then? The current layout differs from how I recall the 'old' m3d looked like.

It is a real MD. No mathematics, very visually driven:
o not altered by cuts o forward and backward sequence o stack-number-to-card-relationship o card-to-stack-number-relationship o position-to-card-relationship and card-to-position-relationship o displayable faces o appearent random order The biggest pro is imho that the MD is unforgettable even after long performing breaks because of its different approach. Simple handling. You are ready to use the MD after reading the book (sic!) and after understanding my (completely new) memory approach. Reading the ebook burns the MD into your memory. There is no need to learn the position to card relationship and vice versa! Indeed you will know the the secret card identity by heart after a specific time using the MD. |

Dear fellow magicians,
your inquiries are highly appreciated and are of great moral support to me. I will do my utmost to swiftly finish my ebook about the m3d - the mind map mem deck. Unfortunately it takes longer than anticipated, as I was preoccupied with another book and caught up with my job. It is not forgotten and under way. Please have a little patience with me. Stay tuned. Sincerly yours Hans-Christian Solka |
