I bring 2-4 soft puppets with me to gigs, in addition to my magic stuff. I have them in a Showtime Magic cube table base now, with a little PA in it also. It's really good but heavy. Any suggestions for a good sized lightweight case that would be good to bring on stage for performance? Footlockers are pretty heavy. It shouldn't be too big because I have to drag it up and down narrow staircases into basements. A lot of stuff isn't deep enough. The lid should stay open so people can't see me getting the puppet on my hand. It doesn't need to be heavy duty because these are soft puppets. Thanks

I'd recommend you look at the Lite-Flight Cabbage Case. Not your cheapest option, but the light flight is sturdy, rugged enough to bounce up and down steps and still protect your props. They come in different sizes or can be custom made. The thing I love about them are the wheels and retractable handles. Solid wheels roll smooth and are big enough to go over thresholds in doorways, elevators, etc. Plus they stand behind their work. If something happens to a case, they will repair it for you. http://www.cabbagecases.com |
