I've been interested in magic for a while (had a couple of magic sets when I was a kid, watched a lot of magicians on TV etc) but only recently started getting serious about doing magic. I'm mostly working sleight of hand stuff right now (one of the things that got me into it was actually just so I'd have something to fidget with so I could break my nail-biting habit) with a focus on coin magic since that's the easiest thing to get away with having out at work. I've been working my way through magic books and youtube tutorials and figured that getting to know you fine folks is the next logical step. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Welcome JohnC,
If you take up Silk Magic or Ring and Ribbon snaggy fingernails will drive you up the walls. LOL You could try flip stick moves with a pencil at work but don't blame me if you get fired. -Mary Mowder |

I've done a bit of that, actually. Confuses the hell out of my coworkers when they see it. Sometimes I string together little impromptu shows for them when things are slow, they're usually a pretty good audience for practicing pacing and patter and such.

Welcome! Good to hear you've been making progress. I'm into sleight of hands as well, but I hate coins with a passion. ^^ All the best for you anyways.
