Hi,
I feel my last gigs could have gone better if I was better prepared. Are there any good videos/dvds on practicing/rehearsing and preparing for strolling gigs? Good dvd's with advice from workers in the trenches? Thanks in advance |

I'd just like to make it clear; not looking for new routines! Rather tips, tricks and advice.
Lectures on the subject would be great! |

Check out Mark Leveridge's "Art of Hopping Tables" He goes into detail everything he goes through when preparing for a strolling gig. May not be for everyone but I found some helpful things. Another would be...
RSVP Magic's Corporate Close-Up Vol. 1 and 2 Check out the table of contents. I think you will find it addresses many of your concerns. The dvds mentioned do have effects that are performed and taught though.

I've been hooked on Penguin lectures lately. Almost all my only explain tricks but also talk about various aspects of performing. David Williamson, Diamond Jim Taylor, Mark Eldson, and Michael Ammar all talk about topics you're looking for. Pop Hadyn is great talking about character development. Check any of those out bb

David stone gives some advice, but if you really want to learn, id suggest his book over the dvd set. The dvd focuses more on effects than hopping theory.
