I guess my perk would be free meals, but that is from the chow hall so it's one of those at your own peril kind of things.

Another thread got me thinking about all the jobs I have had and what it took for me to get where I am today.

I thought it might me interesting to hear about some of the jobs we all have had to get were we are now, and what types of jobs we may have had in common.

For me, I was a poor college student for 5 years and my main goal was to find a job where I got a free meal.

To date I have had 25 jobs and they are listed below:

Bailing hay and straw. (high school summer)
Dishwasher at a Steakhouse. (high school)
Maintenance at my High School (had to clean up for my own graduation)
Maintenance at College (unclogged a lot of toilets)
Dishwasher at Wendy's.
Groundskeeper at a resort.
Roofer (got fired for falling off the roof)
Deli Slicer (Joes Deli home of the Gator Tail)
Painter (apartments)
Deli Slicer (can’t remember the name had to trim the roast beef lean/ pick out the fat after slicing)
Original Cookie Company (all the free cookies I wanted, a week later I was sick of ‘em)
Plitt Theaters Concessions (Free movies, popcorn/soda)
Recreation Therapist (was paid $8/hour +expenses thought I was living large "1980's")
Pizza Hut (free personal pan everyday)
Winn Dixie produce.
Winn Dixie produce (transferred)
Food 4 Less produce (also known as Piggly Wiggly in other areas)
Wal*Mart cashier.
USAF
AAFES Theaters (while in USAF)
Domino Pizza delivery (while in USAF)
House Painter (while in USAF)
Gov Contractor (after USAF)
Self Employed renovations and landlord. (flipped houses and owned rental property)
Gov Contractor (housing market crashed)

Where are you today?

Oh, I was a stocker at Albertsons. I forgot about that one. We had to run through the aisles while pushing a dolly loaded to the hilt. I almost took out an old lady one time and decided it wasn't for me and quit.

I feel bad that I wrote a silly post, and shortly thereafter the Café was broken. I know that it was in fact Salguod's fault, but that didn't stop me from feeling guilty, so here it goes.

1. Professional mower of lawns.
2. Janitor
3. Gas station attendant. This was back in the full service days: I could check your tire pressure and your oil and fix your tires and wash your windshields. I was very good at it, and got promoted to...
4. Assistant Night Manager of H&H Car and Truck Rentals, Waipahu, HI. Actually, this was the gas station I worked at. But for my diligence and excellence, I got to wash the cars and trucks that the gas station rented. I also got promoted to work the night shift by myself (or with a second peon, of whom I was--at the age of 18--in charge).
5. Student, student, and student. I was on scholarship, so I thought that I needed to study as if studying was my job.
6. Stationary Salesman. Again, I was good at it (I'm still obsessed with stationary), so I got promoted to work in outside sales, which I was not good at at all. So I got demoted to working back on the the inside, which suited me just fine.
7. College professor.

That's it. I have worked a lot, but not at lot of different jobs.

Exactly, Bill. I was a stationary salesman of stationery. I said that outside sales didn't suit me. Smile

(Seriously, you always catch me on these things. Maybe I should submit my posts to you privately before I post them.)
