I was perusing the Potter & Potter catalog of items from the Tom Mullica auction and item 246 lists
—quote— Group of stage magic props and tricks used by Tom Mullica. Including a three-ring Linking Ring set (used by Mullica at the Tom-Foolery), vanishing bottle, dancing (floating) billiard cue (Creekmore magic), two Daylight Spirit Séance cloths, Weller’s String of Sausages, Stiff Rope, rope shears, What’s Next? spot card trick, and more. Good condition. —unquote— I’m curious as to whether anyone ever saw Tom present the Creekmore dancing billiard cue--either in his act at the Tom-Foolery or in any other venue. Of course, Tom probably owned a lot of magic that he collected but did not necessarily perform. Interestingly the catalog description does say "three-ring Linking Ring set (used by Mullica at the Tom-Foolery)"---but does not say that he used the Creekmore dancing/floating billiard cue at the Tom-Foolery. There are a lot of items listed in the catalog that Mullica may not have actually used in performance. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

He had planned to open the Tom Poolery which was a billiard magic bar but it folded before it got going. This might have been from/for that.

Yes, I would imagine it is the same as a dancing cane.
But I was thinking of the possibilities of combining the Creekmore Dancing Pool Cue with a set of white Fakini multipying balls that look basically like cue balls. Maybe come up with some kind of trick with a pool triangle, too. Linking Pool Triangles? I've also always wanted to get some latext paint and tweak the Fakini balls with the numbers and colors of a standard billiard set. Maybe throw in a running gag where one of the balls keeps changing to the 8-ball. Maybe produce a giant 8-ball as a finale. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

I believe Raymond Crowe already did Pool Table and Ball act. It was referenced once here on the Café.

Mark Kalin did a 'pool' themed act with multiplying (and expanding) billiard balls, linking pool racks, pool rack thru' cue, and some other effect. Like everything Mark does, it was well rehearsed and thought out.

Thanks for the information about Mark Kalin's billiards routine, Jonathan.
I found this youtube clip of Mark's routine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3LoFalFqzo Very nice, and as Jonathan pointed out in another Café thread, it is based on the Alan Wakeling routine, which of course was based in turn on the Roy Benson routine. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

Yes, but Mark's original routine (including having him dressed in an 1890's pool hustler attire) was much more traditional, with a finale for the sequence of an 8 or 9 inch billiard ball! Very ingenious method used.... by the way!

If I remember, wasn't that finale load based on Booth's Cannonball Opener?

Yes! Now that you mention it! It's all comings back to me now... Have you ever seen anyone else do the Vanishing Garter trick in all these years?,

Not a soul. I believe Owens made that try and it was a beauty.

Yes, it was made by Owen's and Abbott's, Abbott's had a problem of sticking because of not being a good equal sliding trigger.

I know the Blackstone girls often had a bruised leg because of the way the garter snapped. Just spent a weekend at a magic convention and interviewed by friend Adele Friel Rhindress who was one of the "garter" girls.
