I have recently purchased a lot from a estate of magic books so I will have many questions as I am not familiar with some of the older stuff.
first question million dollar card secrets by frank garcia. I have the first edition hard cover spiral. on the first picture page at the bootom it is signed "best wishes, Frank Garcia" I was wondering if it cold be a real signature or if the book was printed with it. Does anyone know this? Also what is this book worth. with and without the real signature. Thank you Joe |

I believe the first 100 books were signed by Frank and George. If George's signature isn't there, it could be that someone had him sign it. No idea of price.

Go to bookfinder dot com. Booksellers from all over the world list new & used books for sale there, & you can get a ballpark figure for almost any book ever published (if it isn't listed there, the value is probably "priceless").
I had a quick look for "Million Dollar Card Secrets", it's being offered for prices ranging from $84.43 to $176.64. |

Thanks guys for your help. It looks like a real signature not printed just wasn't sure

I don't remember seeing a printed signature in any of Frank Garcia's books.

You can usually tell with a good magnifying glass whether a signature is done by a pen/marker or printed. The question of authenticity is something else. The ink used in a live signature and a printed one don't look similar at all. Printed signatures usually have an obvious printed pattern not seen in a live signature.

Except for Houdini, a magician's signature adds very little to the selling price of a book.

A lot of places ask really high numbers, but they don't sell. One time I was looking for a book that was specific to a martial art I was learning and more specifically to a particular teacher. I found 2 of
them online but one was $200 and the other $250. While rare, a buyer for this book was even more rare. Finally, found one for $50 and bought it. Last I looked, those expensive ones were still available. I think a Vernon signature adds to a book, but it's obvious that he signed a lot. |
