I believe Pi Day is tomorrow! :-D
Yesterday, my math class got pie (I chose apple, mmmm). I love Pi! I learned it to 100 digits a while ago but it's slipping away. I only know about 40 digits solidly. (I'm pretty good up to 46264338, then I'm pretty sure it's 792884 but I've forgotten.) HAPPY PI DAY EVE! |

Wow!! That time of the year again! I think I remember someone posting this last year!!
The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science. Whoever does not know it and can no longer wonder, no longer marvel, is as good as dead, and his eyes are

12 years ago I happened to be in maths class when my watch read the following:
3:14 1/5/92 I got really excited about it and showed everyone. They told me I was a nerd and threw stuff at me. |

A friend and I memorized about 70 digits last year for fun. People thought we were weird. Hopefully this post will come out at 3/14 1:59.

In honor of Pi Day, here's a mathematical equation that's also a limerick:
Integral z-squared dz, from 1 to the cube root of 3, times the cosine, of three pi over 9, equals log of the cube root of 'e'! |

Hopefully this post will come out at 3/14 1:59. It did. Nice work, chief. Over in the UK it's the 14/3 so we need an extra day in April to have a Pi day. we pronounce z differently too so Scott's limerick doesn't rhyme in Limerick. |

Pi Day for the Brits would be the third of Deceduocember! As for the limerick, just pronounce "3" as "thread" and "e" as "ed", and then it still rhymes in Britain! |

What a coincidence!
I am just reading in todays Daily Mail about a guy who has memorised Pi to 22,514 digits. It took him 5 Hours to recite the colossal number setting a new European record. The World Record is held by Japan, Jirojuki Goto took Ten hours to recite it to 42,195 places in 1998. As for me, 22/7 has stood me in good stead. Howard |
