Here is the description of this effect:
Hand your participant this 32-page, 9" x 12" Clip Art book which is virtually identical to those found in art stores and graphic supply outlets, even to the two-color cover. It contains hundreds of easily recognized, high-resolution corporate logos. All of them different - no duplicates. Your helper opens the book to a page and thinks of one corporate symbol. You can then name it, draw it, describe the product or the service it represents, or use it as a part of a more involved routine! The W.B.T. is a utility item which packs flat and lets you play it as big as you wish. While your spectator will believe that his choice is one among hundreds of possibilities, in fact, he is psychologically guided, in a very subtle manner, to a smaller, known set of designs... Just like those expensive book test you already know. Best of all, you get two books, each with a different selection of potential choices - perfect for repeat shows! (This effect is available at many of the better-known suppliers.) WARNING: only when you visit Lee Earle's own website http://www.lee-earle.com/WBT.html do you see the following information: Because the company logos in these books represent primarily North American companies, this product is not recommended for overseas customers. SOLUTION: However, I have just disovered that there is also an international version of this effect, with logos more readily recognisable by the European audience, available here: http://www.magicboutique.com/product_inf......s_id=365 The price is 50 Euros + 8.6% VAT for European purchasers. (By the way, this page can be displayed either in French or English.) I have ordered mine, but not yet received it - so can't give a review yet. But if anyone else would like to add a review here ... please DO! |

How the hell do you convey this in performance?? A corporate logo book? What is that? Laypeople have seen these and know what they are? A colouring book for their kids would make more sense. Tom |

Ralf Frohlich created a coloring book just for mental work... it's called " PICTO MENTAL 2000" and it's chock-full of possibilities and uses...
While using coloring books for a book test may seem odd, coloring books are more common and seen more as something we're used to than using logo clip books... most of us had them as kids, if we have children we've bought some for them, and they come off as clean and innocent... especially if you or a child colors in several of the pages... and because the pictures in the coloring book transcends any national, global or geo-politcal barriers it doesn't matter where you use the effect... I have used the "Picto-Mental" many times in my act, including in my corporate work and with the right routining it plays very strong... I like using 2 "Picto-Mentals" for a routine I do with several people in the audience... You can find more info on "Picto-Mental" here: http://www.jheff.com/PictoMental_20.html -- there's also a very good review of the product on that page... Hope thus helps... Success!!! Tony Blake |

I'm with Tony. Picto mental is great. Just make sure you explain why you have a colouring book and you'll have a very powerful routine.

Now that I´m on this forum: Thanks for your comments on Picto Mental 2000!
If you´re interested you can also contact me directly: magiccafe*ralf-froehlich.de (please set "@" for "*", this is to keep it free of spam sent by bots) Looking forward, ralf. Here´s some more comments ... Ted Lesley: "If you are looking for a fantastic Design-Duplication... ...Get this one!" Larry Becker: "... I can personally attest to the fact that Ralf represents the best of the new, young breed of `thinking´ mentalists. His Picto Mental 2000 is an excellent example of his creative approach to the art of Mentalism. It is a brilliant idea, outstanding and effective. Well thought out. Beautifully executed and a fine addition to the working mentalist's arsenal. " Lee Earle: "I think Picto Mental 2000 is a clean adaptation of a clever, and often overlooked principle in Mentalism and it would be a mistake to assume that this is a 'children's mental trick'. Don't waste this on children, for whom Mentalism is not intended. The coloring book camouflage makes this a prop which will be easily accepted by the skeptical ADULT audiences for which it is intended." Dan Harlan: "A natural, innocent-looking prop plus an ingeniously well-concealed method adds up to miracle mental magic. I love it!" Dennis Marks: "I LOVE it! - Very well-produced product." Ford Kross: "It's called Picto Mental 2000 and is certainly a unique approach to design duplication. You receive a large thick coloring book ... There are three basic and different presentations that may be performed with this book. Presentation #1. The participant is handed the book, asked to flip through it and decide on one design. They concentrate on that design you describe it as linear as that. No pumping no peeks, no pre -show. Second presentation, participant concentrates on a design and visualizes the design in their mind. You duplicate the design. Fairly direct no peeks, no preshow. Number three, participant make a choice that coincides with your prediction. Very clevah! ... every step makes sense." Marc de Souza: "Picto Mental 2000 is the most unique book test out there. I use it in my routine which combines four different book test methods. As I pass the books out to the audience, I hand the comic book to a guy and say "this one looks about your speed" ... then I smile at him and chuckle, letting all know it's just a joke. Gets a good reaction, especially when I really do reveal what he is looking at."
