Marc Spellmann for sure. Is he still out there?

I think that Oz is the most bizarre card man because his tricks are so wicked they screw with my head. One time he did a trick so weird that I think I almost fainted but then I didn't so it's OK.

...And I don't know Mac Spellman but I think Oz is better.

If you don't know who Marc Spellman is how do you know Oz is better?

I'm trying to figure out what a "bizarre card man" is specifically.

After watching several videos Jay Sankey gets my vote for most bizarre. But don't get me wrong, I really like a lot of his stuff...

Lol, Oz is bizarre? All of his "tricks" are rip offs of other people's. So if that's what you call bizarre, then he's really out there!

Juan Tamariz may fit the bill, or maybe Paul Harris, since he names effects after the thread, i.e. Bizarre Twist and Bizarre Shrink...

There is also the "bizzare" branch of magic, don't forget. Perhaps that is what the poster was going for. If voting for interesting and unusual, my vote goes to Paul Harris as well.

To me Bizarre means out of the ordinary. I classify ordinary as being a magician who does a lot of classic effects. I am not saying that classics are a bad thing, just not bizarre. As far as someone I consider to be bizarre, my vote goes to Sankey. That man is completely off the wall. Again, not a bad thing.

Okay, fellows. I am a bizzarist. I have spent a lot of time translating bizarre material from German into English for the English-speaking market.

None of the fellows you mention do ANY bizarre magic at all. Now, if you mean strange or unusual, I would agree with you. But none of this falls into the realm of "the bizarre," as bizarrists refer to it.

Card magic is, for the most part, diametrically opposed to what bizarre magic would be concerned with, which is the recreation or simulation of ritual with the routines -- either that or a display of something that resembles genuine supernatural phenomena.

This stuff isn't it. I'm not knocking any of these fellows as card men or original thinkers.

There is a whole branch of magic refered to as "Bizarre Magic" or "magick" or what have you. I have seen guys do stuff where they, say for example, use a ritualistic dagger in their routine, or they do a truth-guessing effect with rune stones that they claim were handed down by Celtic high priests, etc. What I have seen is shrouded in mystery and the macabre, and has little to do with the generally light hearted/or/"i'm a sneaky card cheat" tone of card magic.

That's the other Merlin. Don't confuse a Magician's robe with being in drag. Two different things. I know. I have seen both.

So the difference between bizarre and Bizarre could just hinge on what deck someone uses?

If I did an A/C routine naked that would be quite bizarre, but if I did the same routine with a tarrot deck and 'Death' kept coming to the top, that would be Bizarre?

You know, I have no idea...(above question regarding tarot cards). Those things scare me. I was at a magic auction and the Jumbo cards went before the Tarot cards...what does that mean?
