I pitched for the first time this weekend at a flea marketand was very happy with my results. I only pitched the worm and the Svengali deck. I made over $500 and I am quite happy with that for my first time. The flea market was almost all adults and I had trouble selling many of the decks. I sold mostly squirmles to the kids. I had a 3x8 banner in front of my table that was offered free here on the forum and it looked very nice. There is a flea market/circus coming to town soon and that will be my next place to pitch. I am hoping the fair/street festival circuit will be more profitable than the flea markets. The state fair is coming up next month and it is $900 for 10 days. Would any experts on here recommend doing that since it is such a high vendor fee? Or should I wait and get more experience on the cheaper flea markets? If you have any valuable info, I'd greatly appreciate the help! Thank you

First off what state do you live in ? Not all state fairs are good.If they haven't sold out of spots by now and its only a month away that tells me that maybe its not a good state fair.
Glade to hear you are doing good...keep up the good work. Don |

Hey Metal Master, way to go!
Glad you did good on your first pitch! $900 for a 10 day State fair sounds about right... but like Don says: if it hasn't already sold out of spaces and it's only a month away... it's probably not a good fair unless you get a great spot. Sometimes you can talk them into getting a prime location as magic is looked at as entertainment by the fair organizers... Best! |
