When my friends come round or I see them I always try out new effects on them to see how they go down and for practice in front of an audience, they're usually quite helpful and give advice which is good. But every so often they would say if you could do 'this' I would be impressed. So I normally go away and work on it for a bit and then show them it usually impresses. Anyway we were playing a game the other night kinda like Scrabble but not. I was given a challenge to have 100 tiles like Scrabble tiles shown all different then have a spectator choose several, dropped one by one into a tube then after they had been picked turn the tube around to show the front of the tile with the letter and having there choice spell the spectator's name.
Does anything exsist already like this? or has anyone seen something like this performed? I think it would be a very good effect, and although I have had a few ideas on making this work I have not come up with anything substantial or performable, and I'm certainly not letting my mates defeat me! Any ideas, suggestions, or help would be great PS Thanx in advance |

A tube? a slide?
Sounds new to me. It would be most impressive to use scrabble pieces for this trick.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

I think I still have a travel scrabble set with magnetic pieces. Without revealing secrets I would say you could have a Chop Cup type tube. The tiles are dropped into the cup. The spectator's name is held in your left hand. You then apparently dump the tiles into the left hand like a shuttle pass and reveal the name in tiles. I think that would work.

Not with Scrabble tiles but the magic store by my house has something just like that that I believe they created and sell... an exclusive item.

The Magic Café should start a shop selling all these ideas (with due royalties of course).

Frank,
Spellbound is a standard trick, often called "Spelling Bee." See Hank Lee: http://hanklee.org/xcart/customer/produc......p;page=1 I am not sure what other names it is marketed under. 0pus |
