I've been studying marketing and business development for over 25 years; longer than I've been studying and performing magic. Throughout the years I've had mentors and coaches, and they've all helped me grow my business to what it is today.
Throughout the years I've also mentored and coached others. Many of them have gone on to create six-figure yearly incomes. Some of them occasionally post on this forum. I created my own marketing and business development program that I've promoted here from time to time, and quite a few Café members have invested in that program. Even today, I still invest in coaches and coaching programs. I'm currently in Barry Friedman's Showbiz Blueprint. This is the final week of the 10-week program, and I must say, as much as I know about this business, I still learned some incredibly valuable tools and strategies that have already made me a profit well beyond the investment I made into the program. Within two weeks of implementing one of Barry's strategies I booked a $5000 gig for a 45-minute show. This booking was a direct result of one of the strategies I learned. I have another proposal out for a $15,000 event, where the client will be making a decision by the end of the month. Randy Charach in Vancouver, BC is another person I've been following for well over a decade. I first invested in his Secrets of a Millionaire magician back in 2004. Randy commands $10,000 for a 45-minute mentalism show. He's achieved success well beyond what most entertainers achieve; even more successful than most of the well-known magicians that the typical magic community knows about. He just opened up his Show Business Bootcamp. I was the first person to sign up. It's a $5000 program. It's not cheap, but knowing Randy, I know it's an investment that will pay for itself many times over. This program is limited to only nine people. You can click on the following link to get information on his program with a video that I highly recommend you watch. Show Business Bootcamp Because I was the first person to sign up, Randy gave me a special coupon code to share that will give you a $500 discount off the price of the investment. The coupon code is: LOU If you're interested in signing up, click on the Count Me In button, and that will lead you to a page where you can input the coupon code. Full disclosure: If you use my coupon code, I will receive a commission on that sale. If this bothers you, please disregard this post, or if you're really interested in the program, sign up without including the coupon code, and simply pay full price. One of the side benefits in signing up for this program is the networking opportunities with other like minded performers including me. The only reason I'm promoting this program is because I truly believe in what Randy has to offer. I often say, I don't know what I don't know. Learning and emulating the real world tools, strategies, and principles from incredibly successful performers is one of the ways I get to learn and know more. Like the title of this post states, even coaches need a coach. I'd love to see some of my fellow Café members there! Respectfully, Lou Serrano Show Business Bootcamp Coupon code: LOU |

Nobody knows so much they can't learn more.
Good luck with the program and congratulations on the success so far.

Thanks for sharing this Lou, it looks like a great program. I would like to go but in my opinion I am not at that level yet. Plus I will be coming back from Magic Live that day, have private party that evening, and I don't think I could get my passport updated in time.
I wish more of the experienced members here on the Café took your approach of continually learning and being open about it rather than the "ivory-tower-know-it-all" approach. What you are doing is what I believe Covey calls Sharpening the Saw. |

Do you ever make a pay without taking a shot at others Tim ?
What makes you think others here don't take this approach? You are incredible. Your sense of entitlement is almost unbelievable.

I agree. Do you know anything about Randy Charach and his history and claims? Again, you seem to be talking about things you no little or nothing about, confusing opinions with fact, while again, taking shots and digs at and or towards others that do. Seems like s personal problem and an agenda. You think your coach would better advise you about this.
Not much worse than entitlement coming from an opinionated rookie. |

It is good to know that there are things I can learn from Lou, from Danny, from Mindpro, from Randy Charach, and from every man. Likewise others can learn from me. I wish more people here took the approach of this quote. |

Where in that quote does he he encourage taking cheap shots for no reason?
YOU took a great thread with nothing but encouragement and turned it negative. But you don't see it do you? Indeed everyone has a purpose, even if to serve as a bad example. Certainly one can learn not how to act from you.

I wish he would just answer the simple question you (Danny) and I have asked? Not hard and should be easy for someone with so many opinions and so much to say. You think he'd want to clarify.

Lou,
Barry's coaching, his true sense of passion and empathy for people, and the real-world knowledge that he shares is remarkable. I'm happy to hear you're getting value from his program. I had the same experience with my income increasing directly because of strategies he taught me. Another valuable resource is his wonderful group of people available for support and discussion. Your post reminds me that its time to go back and revisit his site and resources. Thanks! Keith |

Keith,
Your comment about Barry is right on the money. He is genuinely very knowledgeable, giving, supportive, and passionate about everything he does, and it really shines through in his coaching program. I feel the same way about Randy Charach, and I'm sure it's those qualities that attracted me to both of them. I'm sure I'll be revisiting all the SBBP coaching materials for years to come as there is just so much to assimilate. I hope to see you in the SBBP FB alumni group. Lou |

I just wanted to give you guys an update on my experience at Randy Charach's Show Business Bootcamp. As it turned out, my wife and I were the only ones who attended. I get it, since the price tag on this program wasn't cheap.
So let me tell you about the GOOD and the BAD. First the GOOD. Since no-one else attended, we were able to only focus on MY specific business. It was like having a personal coach sitting by my side and coaching me on specifics in order to get my business to the level where I want to go. I consider myself to be quite knowledgable when it comes to marketing and business development as it applies to the magic and entertainment business. I've read hundreds of books on marketing, business, and high achievement. I've invested in online programs put out by magicians, speakers, variety entertainers, and marketers. I've invested tens of thousands of dollars attending bootcamps and seminars, but I learned things from Randy that I never learned from anyone else before. After an initial session where we clarified my goals, we went right to work; implementing real world strategies that were designed to produce immediate results. There was no fluff at this bootcamp. It's only been a little over a week since I returned home, and I'm already seeing a dramatic increase in high quality leads. These are the kind of leads that I was only getting sporadically prior to the bootcamp. Another thing I loved about this bootcamp is that Randy peeled away the layers of his business letting me see the inner workings of exactly how he books his gigs. And his gigs are substantial. High dollar gigs all over the world, and he does it with seemingly little effort. In reality, it took him quite a bit of trial and error to fine tune his system, and then he handed it to me on a silver platter. We also went into many strategies that I'm still implementing and others that are on my vast To Do list. He really went into detail into all the strategies and concepts that he shared; everything from positioning to marketing and business systems. He explained it all in plain English, at a pace where I was able to absorb the information, never glossing over details, and always making sure I had a solid grasp on his teachings. Now for the BAD. The only bad thing I can think of is all the people who thought about investing in this program and then didn't. They missed out on an enormous opportunity to dramatically alter the course of their lives and careers. I know this sounds like hyperbole, but this is the best money I've ever spent on growing my business. I am not getting paid to say this, and I have nothing to gain by promoting the work of someone else, but I'm just so happy about the results I'm generating, I just had to share it. Respectfully Lou Serrano |

Hyperbole? No. It sounds like a satisfied client! Private tutoring. Good to hear it worked out Lou.

Lou,
Glad to hear that Randy's course was well worth every penny you spent. That's such a great feeling when you do something (buy a new product, try out a new service, etc.) and you come away with such a satisfying experience. Gerry |
