I was at our annual magic convention here in Finland and there were again many great and interesting lecturers. Rob Zabrecky was one of them and I have to say that he is truly a wonderful performer and his lecture was pure gold. He talked about the whole process of creating magic and performing it. He is my new magical hero! If you have possibilty to see him perform or give a lecture, grap the opportunity and go! And he wasn't in bad company; there were also lectures from Joshua Jay, Hector Mancha, Gregory Wilson and many more... I feel nourished! 😊

I have worked with Rob Zabrecky many times, and he is a great friend. I think he is a wonderful performer, and extremely creative. He has a great sense of character and presence, and understands what he is about. That isn't all that common today.

Interesting to hear! But I have to say that I'm not so suprised that you say this and acknowledge these traits to be of importance mr. Haydn because you yourself are an inspiration to me in building a character and presence in magic. I have watched so many times the video clips you have shared here in Café where you do the same routine in different characters; as Whit and as Pop. It is super interesting to me as an actor and director (which are my day jobs) and as an aspiring to be magician. Thank you for your inspiration!

Saw Rob's show "The Zabrecky Hour" here in NYC last night. It was fantastic. He is truly unique.

Unique indeed. Very creative, very good. I have really enjoyed everything of his I've seen. Highly recommend his Penguin Lecture. I haven't been able to see him in person but I would definitely go if he was anywhere near me. (Curse living in the middle of nowhere)

As a card guy I became a fan instantly when I saw him perform the Diminishing Cards and he reminded me of Joel Grey in Cabaret.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Hi diminishing card act, to that crazy weird dance is hilarious. At first, you don't even know he's doing a trick. Have you seen the short film of him as the carpool lane magician? Hilarious.https://youtu.be/vXgAmfDPP0g

He's so great. He nearly came to SA but it didn't work out. Hopefully soon.

He mostly uses personalized versions of commercial effects. I really enjoyed his lecture, it went over the good stuff.

Rob Zabrecky's Astonishing Essay from Vanishing Inc. Is a really good read. I'm glad that I have his Penguin Lecture as a supplement to it.
