Does posting political memes without fact-checking their accuracy count as a violation of the 9th commandment?

Good question! I'd tend to doubt it, but you never know.
I'm think there's probably a high number of people (in e USA, anyway) whose political beliefs violate the 1st, though.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

If you get your facts from memes you can't be very serious about finding truth. To many memes are just for fun and not to be taken seriously.

I've heard of memes, but I don't really know what they are. And unless they can change my quality of life, I'm not interested.

This particular election cycle has me so disinterested. It is the equivalent of asking me which Menendez brother I prefer?
Are you required to fact check every single thing prior so as to not be called a liar? Isn't a lie more about intent than CONTENT? Now if you willfully do not do so based on suspicion of what may be found then I would think certainly at that point it is a violation.

I'd say no if there was an absence of intent to lie. If you're pretty sure the thing isn't true but don't know know for sure, then yes.

Even if it doesn't violate the 9th Commandment, it probably violates the 9th Amendment.
