Seeing this thread reminds me I still have this unused and I should bring it out!

I to ordered a few replacement sets and had the same problem. I think the tickets become this way as they age. Though, I still love these! Always so much fun to perform with very strong reactions. [/quote] I ordered this last year from Alakazam (UK) and had the problem with both the original set and the replacement that was sent. I agree it seemed to be to do with the coating becoming overly adhesive over a period of time (I assumed stock is quite old now?). Pleased though unsurprised that Alakazam sent me a third set without hesitation - I’ve always found their support very good - and this one was fine. Really nice little effect, which plays stronger than I’d anticipated. |

My replacements came through a while back and I have only just got to re-scratching the cards.
Along with the new cards, I was also provided with a small scratching plate to do the business. My hunch was that the coins I was using before weren't helping with a precise scratch, as they have rough and rounded edges and therefore apply their 'scratching force' a little unevenly! Using a coin to scratch authentic gaming cards is no problem, because they are not used for our purposes and have an identifying bar code as well - so no issue if a number (or two) get scuffed up, or get a bit tricky to read. Is this scientific? Nup! However, the new plate has a thin, smooth, coated edge and did the job quite well. Problem solved . . . for me!

When all else fails, think of a story. People love stories. Then add your spectator(s) names in to the story. People love to hear their name. Then have the character(s) in the stories give reactions such as, YAY, BOOOO, clapping, shouting a word, etc. and have your spectators participate and express those reactions. Make light fun of those reactions when applicable.
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.
