So before my Sanitarium/Asylum adaptation of Death Flight I have another routine planned. The routine starts with the introduction of a box (we love our boxes don't we) which contains a number of items. Among the items are RmSvc, a haunted key (aged), and H@mpton F@lls (custom photos from 1986 era). However at this point the box is wrapped in a cloth and the specific contents not revealed to the spectator/medium. The box is then uncovered and introduced without revealing details or the contents. The medium is then instructed (per Down the H@tch) to connect with the box and divine information about where it came from. After the WH reveal the box is opened and the contents revealed a few items at a time starting with the RmSvc book and the key. Using the visualization method while holding the key they come up with the room number and RmSvc proceeds as normal.
Next we dive into HF tying everything in the box together. The story is updated to reflect the year as 1986 (to coincide with the post closing of WH) and set in a town near that location instead. The idea is that the students were intentionally trying to contact the dead in a known extremely haunted location and got way more than they bargained for. Here's where I need help. I'm trying to come up with ephemera to include in the box other than just the effects creating a bit of a time capsule. Not sure what angle I'm going with the box for background story - either it belonged to a police officer (much like the hauntique The Curator did for Outlaw's H0mic!de) obsessed with the case or a parent of one of the survivors trying to piece together the mystery and find closure. I tried looking around online for a few things in the usual digs like ebay and google images (to get ideas for something I could make or find similar) but kinda came up empty handed when it came to goodies from WH or the nearby area. Was tough enough finding yearbook pics from 1986 from the area to update the HF pics. But I'm proud of the way they came out. Any help or guidance would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, -TM |

If you're going for the policeman angle, why not have his badge in there from the local department? Say he kept obsessing over the case even after he retired and he kept his old badge in the box. He worked on the case literally till the day he died. Maybe he's working on it still...you could also include his notebook from the original investigation...maybe even do a book test with it?

Badges were one of the first things I tried. I found a few on ebay at the state level but nothing really at the town or county level. Also tried finding vintage maps of the area as well with little to no luck. Most of the stuff from around the state or area are postcards.
