We bar people for all sorts of reasons. Negative press, no value, unable to provide a source of funds. We have very strict licensing agreements. Mafia would be a definite no go. Too much danger of money laundering.

I'd really like to know, even if I understand that you can't be very specific, how you spot someone from the mafia.

I mean, I suppose they don't always wear expensive black suits and shiny shoes like we're used to see them depicted in movies. I also hope they don't speak Italian all the time, like they always do in movies. Well, I say Italian, but it could be Russian or Cantonese nowadays...

It has to do with criminal records and known associates.

Those little conversations you have with your work-pals go a long way - "that guy? he's connected"


also its often in your best interests as a criminal associate to let people know you're a criminal associate
