If you're going to use a teaser video, what you're really doing is creating a short length and full length promo video. Both should have the same purpose. To get them to request more information. Whether it drives them to your website, has them call, eMail etc. Do you think your teaser video accomplishes your goal? -Robert |

I think so. Also, it used as teaser of my show at their event or club that I will be performing at.

The teaser video seems like it's not finished. I think you need a voice over to tell the viewer/prospective buyer what you'll do for them and most importantly, what you want them to do. That could be call now for more information, eMail us and get a free something or other etc. Regarding your desire for your teaser video to drive people to the main video. This doesn't make sense to me. If you're using video 1 to drive them to video 2, what is the purpose of video 2? To drive them to your website? To get the to call? Why add the extra step? Just put it on the teaser video. Also, I visited your website because I was curious about this video 2. Your teaser video is more professional looking. I'd create a voice over for it and relay the video over top of it and just use that one. You should certainly have unedited segments of your show available for viewing on your website. But a video to drive them to a video is redundant. Good luck with it. I think your teaser has strong professional attributes. It's just not finished. -Robert |

I like where you are going with this. As a Promo Video (promotional video) for the use you described I think it's got a good feel. It is not a demo video or sample video, which was why I asked my original question about intent. I agree with Robert about the announcer narrative. I also like the graphic transitions you are using. Those with the announcer could play strong. I could also see more titling or overlay graphics on a few clips (Amazing! Hilarious! Family-Friendly Show, Magic For All Ages, etc. type of things. The performance footage isn't the best quality or sharpest, especially on a larger screen format, but I'm sure you already know this. I'd also like to see hear more of you and the actual audio from the footage. The footage from the Comedy Cabana in Myrtle Beach has some great audio and great audience laughing, which plays much better that the clip where you are tossing cards. I like the opening establishing performance clip. Be sure the viewer can understand what the clips are trying to portray or demonstrate. I like that your clips are not just the payoffs, climax or punchlines as many magicians tend to use.
I also agree with Robert about not liking this video leading to another video. Why create the extra step or allow for a drop rate? |

Every step you create is another opportunity for an objection to appear. When you ate not there you can not answer rise objections. Why let that happen?

When you are trying to sell something to someone most often you run into "objections". These are reasons that someone may not want to buy the product or service. Good sales is about overcoming those objections. Almost using them as an opportunity to show features and benefits.
When you have a video intended to direct them to another video it is a step that offers them an opportunity to have an objection. The really bad part is it is an objection that you can not answer as you are not involved in the process personally. This is not good as often it results in an instant loss of sale with no recourse for you. So it seems pointless to add the step if it was me. I am not saying this is the only way to think, just that it is how I think. This is why I am not a fan of taking the person out of the equation in sales in the first place. I think that the inability to answer objections loses sales in the long run. But that is another discussion. For me I don't like to add steps to give them an opportunity to object to the sale. I have not and will not in the thread talk about the video itself. PM me if you want to talk some, but Robert is dead on. I am only talking about the concept of having an extra, seemingly unneeded step in the process.

Nicely done. Two minor changes I would make if I was editing this:
1) The audio at the end cuts off s a bit abruptly to me, when the excitement you're trying to illustrate calls for more of a Ta-Da type of ending, musically. It also sounds like there's spoken audio that cuts off in mid sentence. I'd like to see some kind of audio cue that this is the end, and Look Here! - it's my contact info! Nothing too dramatic, but something more than just ending mid-sentence and mid-musical phrase. This way the audio matches the video. 2) I would trim a half second from the clip at the end when you say "Let's get out of here." I would clip it just before you begin to turn around, so the joke ends with your smile, facing forward, not you turning away. I'm talking 5 to 15 frames only. |

Typically in a promo video for this purpose you do not want your contact information. Perhaps the venue's, media or production company's CTA but not yours. Most promo videos are meant to be used for promotional purposes and are specifically left without the artist's contact info, especially for the use he's outlined.

Great stuff Keith. Thanks Josh, and Mindpro the one that place in the lobby probably will not have that on the video. But, when I have done this before I have gotten calls and emails from groups at the hotels and they have booked me for private shows at their home town and at the Resorts. I also have them play it on the tv station at the Resort continuously during their promotions.
